As a food microbiology laboratory, we often require identification of bacterial species during our routine food testing. We have several methods that we use for this identification, and purchased the Omnilog to compliment these methods a few years ago. We have found that the Omnilog is not overly accurate for species identification. In addition, it takes a fairly long time to reach a conclusion.
