Tecan has combined the REMP Small-Size Store (SSS) with the Freedom EVO liquid handling workstation, creating a fully automated liquid handling and sample management platform. The REMP SSS is a fully automated storage and retrieval system that fits perfectly into a research laboratory.

Together, the Freedom EVO and the REMP SSS can be used to automate a variety of sample logistic tasks for compounds management and screening in pharmaceutical laboratories as well as DNA sample storage and retrieval in genomic environments.

REMP Tube Technology™: REMP Tube Technology consumables offer researchers a unique, efficient and highly-automatable solution for managing samples. Each tube can be individually removed while frozen so only the requested thawed are thawed, enhancing sample lifetime.

Processing Speed: REMP Tubes accelerate automation through their unique design that allows all 96 tubes to be capped and de-capped together with the Automated Capper De-capper (ACD 96), reducing the time tubes are open and exposed to the environment.

Tube Punching Module: The integrated Tube Punching Module (IPM), enables cherry picking of individual REMP tubes in the -20°C environment eliminating unnecessary freeze thaw cycles. Cherry picking lists can be imported from LIMS.

Secure Data Tracking: Freedom EVOware® and the REMP Sample Administration Software (SAS) work together to track samples in inventory, as well as on the Freedom EVO. Volumes, concentrations, compound Ids, batch numbers and barcodes are tracked and updated as sample are stored and retrieved. LIMS connectivity is provided through a variety of open interfaces.

Integrated Hand Off: The Freedom EVO’s versatile Robotic Manipulator (RoMa) transfers storage and retrieval plates to and from the Small Size Store (SSS).

Storage and Front-End Processing Flexibility: The Freedom EVO offers a huge range of standard and customized options to automate most front end processing tasks, such as dissolution, dilutions.

Process Security: The Reatrix 2D™ barcode reader scans the 2D barcodes on the REMP tubes ensuring each tube is positively identified before checking, and after retrieval.
