Coagulation Controls

Coagulation quality controls are used as references to ensure consistently high-quality results in coagulation testing. Types include D-dimer control, for monitoring D-dimer testing on coagulation, immunoassay, and chemistry analyzers; coagulation controls for routine coagulation tests; and hemostasis controls for coagulation factor and thrombosis risk assays. The controls are commonly provided in liquid format. Depending on the type of control, analytes may include prothrombin time, APTT, fibrinogen, and plasminogen.

What to Consider When Choosing a Coagulation Control?

Take note of how long the control will remain stable once it is reconstituted (lyophilization will enhance stability), and whether the control is human plasma based. Compatibility with your platform is also a must.
