Porosimeter

Porosimeter Porosimeters are used to analyze a material’s porous components such as total pore volume, surface area, pore diameter, and absolute/bulk densities. Applications of porosimetry are seen in material, environmental, food, and life science industries. Porosimeters function by using a non-wetting liquid at high pressures and determine pore size via external pressures needed to force the liquid into a pore against the liquid’s surface tension. Considerations for purchasing a porosimeter will be dependent on the method used (intrusion), measuring range, and pressure range.
