Description

Incorporating refractive index, UV/Vis absorbance, light scattering and intrinsic viscosity detectors, OMNISEC REVEAL is the most advanced integrated GPC/SEC multi-detector available. It offers comprehensive molecular characterization of synthetic and natural polymers as well as proteins.

Sold as part of a complete OMNISEC system, or as a stand-alone module for connection to any existing GPC/SEC system, OMNISEC REVEAL is a complete integrated multi-detector module for advanced GPC/SEC analysis. It includes refractive index (RI), UV/Vis absorbance, light scattering and intrinsic viscosity detectors for the characterization of synthetic polymers, natural polymers and polysaccharides, and proteins.

In combination, these detectors can measure multiple molecular properties including concentration, dn/dc, absolute molecular weight, intrinsic viscosity, molecular size (Rh and Rg), and Mark-Houwink parameters. A temperature controlled detector compartment (20 to 65°C) improves baseline stability and minimizes the amount of inter-detector tubing and thus band-broadening that occurs between the detectors.

OMNISEC REVEAL can be used to relate a polymer’s molecular properties to its bulk characteristics in applications from packaging and energy to food and pharmaceuticals. Its protein characterization capabilities can be applied to academic research and biopharmaceutical development.

  • OMNISEC REVEAL's light scattering detector is the most sensitive available enabling measurements of molecular weights as low as 200 Da and injection masses as low as 100 ng. It combines the sensitivity of 90° Right Angle Light Scattering (RALS) with the accuracy of 7° Low-Angle Light Scattering (LALS) to achieve the ultimate sensitivity and accuracy. Its flow cell is just 18 µL minimizing band broadening
  • The self-balancing differential viscometer in OMNISEC REVEAL has user exchangeable capillaries to make it more robust and usable than any other available. Its 316 stainless steel constructions means few limitations with salts of pH and it has an exchangeable bridge for fast user replacement and the ability to self-balance for simple, automatic setup
  • The refractive index detector measures the concentration of almost any solute. Its robust design allows it to be the first detector in series, minimizing band broadening and maximizing measurement quality and sensitivity
  • The UV/Vis photodiode array (PDA) covers the full UV and visible spectra (200-900 nm)
  • Combine data from multiple detectors to calculate hydrodynamic radius (Rh), radius of gyration (Rg), and Mark-Houwink parameters
