Dr. Mike Doyle to Receive the Coblentz Society’s 2014 Williams-Wright Award

TUSTIN, Calif., February 24, 2014 – Axiom Analytical is pleased to announce that Dr. Michael (Mike) (MI) Doyle – a founder and company CEO - will receive this year’s Coblentz Society Williams-Wright Award. The award is presented annually to an industrial spectroscopist who has made significant contributions to vibrational spectroscopy while working in industry.

“I am pleased and honored that the Coblentz Society has chosen me to be this year’s recipient of the Williams-Wright Award. I’ve been working in optics and spectroscopy for a good many years now and have had the opportunity to do a lot of different things – some of which may actually be significant. So I look upon the award as recognition for lifetime achievement in the field of vibrational spectroscopy,” said Dr. Doyle. “The history of vibrational spectroscopy – and FTIR in particular – is not well documented. As I was given the privilege to select other speakers at the award presentation, I have chosen four individuals who are long time leaders in the industry and asked each of them to speak about the history of FTIR spectroscopy from their unique perspective. I anticipate some very interesting and revealing presentations.”

This year’s Williams Wright Award Session to take place at Pittcon 2014 at the McCormick Center in Chicago on Wednesday, March 5 at 1:30 PM in Room S401bc will be devoted to the history of FTIR spectroscopy.

Pittcon attendees and members of the press are cordially invited to attend the presentation.

About Axiom Analytical, Inc

Axiom Analytical, Inc. was founded in 1988 by Dr. Mike Doyle and Norm Jennings, pioneers in the field of process FTIR spectroscopy. The Company’s mission is to develop and market the robust sampling equipment, software, and integrated systems required to fully realize the potential of vibrational spectroscopy for solving economically significant problems both in laboratory analysis and manufacturing processes. The Company’s products are employed in diverse industries ranging from basic chemicals to pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and polymer processing. In short, the Company’s products are found wherever process analytical technology (PAT) is being applied. Its hardware products include ATR probes, transmission probes, diffuse reflectance probes, Raman probes, flow cells for gas and liquid analysis, and fiber-optic multiplexers. These cover the full range of molecular analysis including mid-IR, near-IR, UV-visible, and Raman spectroscopy.
