Spectral Systems LLC today announced they have signed an agreement and completed the closing on a management buy-out of the assets of the Spectral Systems business from Smiths Detection, Inc. The acquisition includes substantially all of Spectral Systems’ intellectual property, technology, machinery, tooling, employees and its product portfolio. Financial details were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Hopewell Junction, NY, with production facilities also in Milford, CT, Spectral Systems specializes in providing high quality and innovative infrared optical components, coatings, sub-assemblies and consulting services to the FTIR spectroscopy community from concept to production. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) technology is used for performing chemical analysis of molecular structures for routine laboratory analysis and remote site applications by many Fortune 500 companies around the world. Spectral Systems’ unique technology offers customers high-performance optical coatings on a wide variety of infrared substrates.
