We build each chamber to fit your specific needs, not the other way around. You will find our chambers in research facilities all over the world. Although we provide a variety of customization options, we understand the importance of lighting, specifically LED lighting.
While some manufacturers are just entering the LED market, we’ve been designing LED chambers for over 20 years. Here at Percival, we put the LED in Leader. In 1995, Percival was part of a collaboration developing controlled environmental technology for research on the Space Shuttle.
As a result of that experience, Percival has continued to evolve our LED products based on that same technology used on the Space Station. We learned a lot from the process, and it became the launch point for one of our flagship chambers.
Let me tell you a little bit about how an LED works. An LED, or Light Emitting Diode, is a solid-state, semiconductor that emits light when voltage is applied to it through a process called electroluminescence.
The popularity of these solid-state lights is rapidly growing because of their amazing advantages. For example, you can tune them to a specific output and wavelength.
They’re highly stable; which means you can predict what they are going to do and then reproduce it. And on top of that, they are fully dimmable!
The light producing side of the chip doesn’t emit a lot of heat, which helps with temperature control. And guess what? Unlike other lighting options LED’s have a greener environmental footprint. Making the world a better place for us all.
They even perform well at low temperatures.
But most importantly, LED’s are highly efficient and have a long life span. Saving you time and money. Our goal here at Percival is to stay ahead of this rapidly evolving technology while also keeping it cost effective to you! In addition to being able to add LEDs to a standard chamber, we now provide our own line of LED chambers.
These chambers are specifically designed to give you the exact lighting you need, where and when you need it. We offer many LED color combinations: Commonly chosen colors are Daylight White, Deep Red, Far Red, and Royal Blue.
Other popular color options include Warm White, Cool White, Blue, Green, Amber, Red-Orange, and Red. With our fully integrated control system you can adjust to the lighting level you desire. Each color is independently dimmable.
