When a substance is spilled inside a biosafety cabinet, it should be taken care of as soon as possible to minimize risk. Absorbent toweling should be used to remove spills and then disposed of in a biohazard bag. Any splatter should be wiped away carefully as well, and disinfectant, such as bleach, should be used to guard against potential contaminants.
