Description
Stirring biomass such as straw or grasses is not easy to do in a vertical reactor. A line of reactors has been developed by Parr Instrument Company to function horizontally. These new reactors are secured vertically for loading and then safely tilted horizontally for stirring. The reactor can even be designed to tilt upside down for discharge. Horizontal reactors can be designed for capacities ranging from 0.1 liter to 10 liters. The larger systems can be controlled pneumatically to tilt the system upright to open the bottom drain valve. These horizontal rectors can obtain temperatures up to 350 °C and maximum pressures of 1900 psig.
