Description
Solid phase sandwich ELISA (Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay) for the determination of Human Phopsho Tau (217P) in cerebrospinal fluids. For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Tau protein is a microtubule-associated protein of 45-50 kDa consisting of 352-441 amino acids. It plays a role in stabilizing microtubules that transport intracellular substances in neurons. Tauopathies such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) and frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) are known to be caused by abnormal accumulation of tau protein. It has been known that human phosphorylated tau 181 (pTau181) is elevated in CSF of AD patients.
