Description
Polysucrose (renamed from Ficoll™) is a polymer which displays excellent biocompatibility. Polysucrose is more sensitive to acid than dextran so that care must be taken when working at acid pH. All batches are checked for molecular weight, degree of substitution, loss on drying and free TRITC. Aladdin produce TRITC-polysucrose from 20 kDa to 400 kDa. TRITC-polysucroses are supplied as a pink powder.StructurePolysucrose is a polymer synthesised by cross-linking sucrose with epichlorohydrin. TRITC-Polysucrose is prepared by reacting polysucrose with TRITC. Polysucrose has a more spherical structure and is less flexible compared to dextran.Spectral dataTRITC-polysucrose has an excitation maximum at 522 and an emission maximum at 552 nm at pH 9.ApplicationTRITC-polysucrose is mainly used for studying permeability and microcirculation. Due to its spherical structure, it is often used for studies of glomerular filtration
