Description
Methyl palmitate (PAME), a fatty acid ester of palmitic acid, is a glucose-receptor antagonist. Methyl palmitate acts as a vasodilator and relaits arterioles in the retina during electrical depolarization. In the upper cervical ganglion, methyl palmitate regulates nicotinic receptors. Endogenous methyl palmitate modulates nicotine-receptor mediated signaling in the upper cervical ganglion.
