Description
Lignoceric ceramide is a naturally occurring ceramide and an integral part of the sphingomyelin cycle. C:24:-N-acyl sphingosines are the most abundant ceramide species in human plasma and in rabbit leukocytes, where they make up to 50-60% of total ceramides. Lignoceric ceramide stimulates the proliferation of basophilic erythroblasts, suggesting a possible role in erythrocyte maturation
