1-O-(a-Glucopyranosyl)-D-mannitol is a sugar alcohol compound that is employed as a primary disaccharide component of the isomalt sugar substitute. Isomalt containing 1-O-(a-Glucopyranosyl)-D-mannitol is described to be useful as a filler-binder for pharmaceutical preparations
