Description
1-Bromo-3-chloropropane is a solvent that has been described as a less toxic replacement for chloroform in the liquid-phase separation and isolation of RNA from DNA and proteins. 1-Bromo-3-chloropropane is described to be efficacious in the single-step isolation of RNA from rat liver and various tissues, human placenta and human MCF-7 cells, and from bean and corn sprout plant material.
