Description
1,1,3,3-Tetramethoxypropane is a precursor of malondialdehyde and a naturally occurring product of lipid peroxidation and prostaglandin biosynthesis, which is formed by oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids in foods. It can be mutagenic or carcinogenic due to its reaction with DNA creating adducts of deoxyguanosine and deoxyadenosine.Usually used in preparing malondialdehyde standards during malondialdehyde assay on lung homogenates, and also used to study the effect of Salvianolic acid A on the migration and proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells
