Description
H1-7 (histone H1 phosphorylation site), PKA Substrate is a synthetic peptide that acts as a pseudo substrate for PKA (cAMP-dependent protein kinase). This peptide was derived from the calf thymus histone H1 amino acid sequence about serine-38 and was used to research the reaction mechanism of the PKA catalytic subunit. H1-7 exhibits a greater absolute catalytic rate of phosphorylation than H1, an absolute Michaelis constant 40-fold greater than whole histone H1, but exhibits less affinity. Peptide sequence of H1-7: RRKASGP
