8-Hydroxyguanine is a DNA damage product under oxidative stress, which is formed when hydroxyl radicals attack guanine in DNA. 8-Hydroxyguanine induces mutagenesis and leads to a transversion from G to T. 8-Hydroxyguanine is a marker of DNA oxidative damage[1][2]
