Description
Retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) is the layer of pigment cells that surrounds the neurosensory retina. These cells support the retinal visual cells, which attach to the choroid below and the visual cells of the upper layer of the retina. RPE has multiple functions: light absorption, epithelial transport, spatial ion buffer, visual circulation, phagocytosis, secretion and immune regulation. iNeu™ are retinal pigment epithelial cells derived from human iPSC. They express biomarkers such as RPE-65, RLBP1 and BEST.
