Description
Mesenchymal stem cells ("MSCs") are non-hematopoietic, pluripotent stromal stem cells that can differentiate into a variety of cell types, including: osteoblasts, chondrocytes, muscle cells and adipocytes. iNeu™ is a mesenchymal stem cell derived from human iPSC. In addition to Oct4 and Nanog, iNeu™ also expresses cell surface markers such as CD73, CD90, CD166 and CD105. This expression profile predicts the long-term proliferation ability of cultured human MSCs. MSCs have immunomodulatory functions, secrete cytokines and immune receptors, can regulate the microenvironment in host tissues, and they have multi-lineage potential for multiple cell types. MSC can be used for a variety of screening applications, from screening biological agents and small molecules to siRNA. Since MSC has the ability to self-renew (= grow without differentiation), it can be easily expanded for large-scale assays.
