Immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1), Human Myeloma Plasma, FC Fragment

Description

Crystallizable fragments composed of the carboxy-terminal halves of both Immunoglobulins Heavy Chains linked to each other by disulfide bonds. Fc fragments contain the carboxy-terminal parts of the heavy chain constant regions that are responsible for the effector functions of an immunoglobulin (Complement fixation, binding to the cell membrane via FC Receptors, and placental transport). IgG1 FC was reported has a novel role as a potential anti-inflammatory drug for treatment of human autoimmune diseases. The IgG1 FC fragment does not bind antigen; however, it does contain the classic antigenic determinants and biological activity with respect to cytotrophic reactions, binding of complement and catabolic rate control.Prepared from plasma shown to be non reactive for HBsAg, anti-HCV, anti-HBc, and negative for anti-HIV 1 & 2 by FDA-required tests.Ref.:Anthony R, Ravetch J, et al.
