We use Edwards nXDS10i Dry Scroll Pumps in combination with Edwards Turbo Pumps for achieving the Ultra High Vacuum conditions required for our product component testing.
The nXDS10i Dry Scroll Pump is incredibly robust and reliable; we have over ten currently in service and they are running almost 24/7, with multiple spin down/up cycles each week. We regularly achieve pressures of less than 1 x 10-10 bar and there is little to no organic contamination as the pump is oil-free.
The nXDS10i Dry Scroll Pump is easy to use, monitor, and maintain, with free software that gives live data as the pump is in action. It is easy to change the tip seals of the pump and it is also possible, with some time and practice, to change the bearings in-house rather than sending them away.
The only downsides that I have found is that they are heavy, so the less strong members of the team can struggle to lift them, and that they can be noisy. The latter problem is solved with a muffler, however.
It is a true workhorse of a pump and I would recommend it heartily to any and all who are looking for UHV Solutions. The Edwards Customer Service Experience is outstanding, also. 10/10.
