I have used the Corning transwell filters to assess mobility of human articular chondrocytes (HAC), by measuring cell movement across the membrane. After incubation of membranes with HAC and the appropriate test and control conditions, the filters were swabbed, fixed and the cells stained for manual counting. This was a highly effective protocol for cell mobility.
