Thermometric titration for 2-minute sulfate determination.

Riverview, FL, January 2011…
Using the Metrohm 859 Titrotherm is a straightforward method to determine sulfate in liquid/granular fertilizers or wet process phosphoric acid. The method uses titration with a solution of BaCl2 to an exothermic endpoint. Thermometric titration out-performs other methods used for this application because it is insensitive to chemical interference; adding the sample is the only step to perform, and results are achieved in under two minutes.

The Metrohm 859 Titrotherm is USB-enabled and includes four MSB connections for patented Dosino® air-bubble-free “top-down” dispensing systems and stirrers. It features the fast-acting Thermoprobe temperature sensor with a 3-second response time and 10-5 K resolution, user-friendly software and a robust housing made of polypropylene (PP) and epoxy resin to withstand organic solvents and aggressive media.

As with all Metrohm systems, the 859 Titrotherm features a 3-yr warranty and is back by expert applications support and service. For more information about Titrotherm and all Metrohm products and services, go to www.metrohmusa.com.
