AMSBIO has partnered with Singapore General Hospital to identify the best reagent to transfect their human embryonic stem cells. Researcher Tan Eng-King previously used GeneIN, a transfection reagent designed for stem cells. GeneIN is no longer available for use. Several reagents were tested and GenePORTER® was selected as the best reagent to transfect their human embryonic stem cells.
Dr. Christine Chan Hui Shan, a Senior Researcher, mentioned “Human embryonic stem cells are notoriously difficult-to-transfect primary cells. GenePORTER 2 enabled us to deliver our target genes into hESCs with an improved efficiency, compared to some other commercially available transfection reagents."
GenePORTER® 2 transfection reagent is a lipid formulation optimized to provide high transfection efficiencies in a broad range of mammalian cells. It is effective in difficult-to-transfect cells, such as PC-12, macrophages, and primary cells.
