Laboratory Reactors

A Laboratory reactor is designed for the optimization and reproduction of various chemical reactions, dispersal, mixing, and homogenizing processes. Applications of laboratory reactors include mixing and drying powders, developing lotions and creams, fuel research, and fiber processing in liquids and polymers. Key considerations for laboratory reactors are primarily dependent on the types of reactions taking place (polymerization, hydrocracking, etc). Other considerations include flow rate, temperature range, volume, and pressure range.

DescriptionParr Instrument Company manufactures non-stirred vessels for the decomposition of biomass in ammonia and steam. Parr stirred reactors, including a new horizontal reactor technology, have been designed for research processes that include hydrogenation, isomerization, and metathesis reactions. In ... Read MoreThe Series 2500 Micro Batch Reactor System is the smallest of Parr's family of stirred reactors and is available in a number of configurations. With reactor volumes of 5 mL or 10 mL, independent reactor gas filling, PID temperature control, and a choice of two closure styles, the flexibility of the ... Read MoreSingle-phase flow in a tubular reactor can be upward or downward. Two-phase flow can be co-current up-flow, counter-current (liquid down, gas up) or, most commonly, co-current down-flow.

Tubular reactors can have a single wall and be heated with an external furnace or they can be jacketed for

Parr Fluidized Bed Reactors are used extensively in the chemical process industries. The distinguishing feature of a fluidized bed reactor is that the solids bed or catalytic particles are supported by an up flow of gas. This reactor provides easy loading and removing of catalyst. This is ... Read MoreFor Evaluation of Corrosion Inhibitors per ASTM G170 and Other Methods Evaluation of corrosion inhibitors for use in refinery and oilfield applications typically requires apparatus that can simulate the interaction between the corrosive fluid and the carbon/low alloy steel used in the construction ...
