Benchtop Fume Hood / Tabletop Fume Hoods

The tabletop fume hood, like other laboratory fume hoods, is a ventilation system that is designed to filter and/or exhaust gasses, chemical fumes, and vapors. They also simultaneously act as a barrier to lab personnel and the lab itself, containing spills and reducing exposure.

Most fume hoods are box-like structures with a vertical (most common) or horizontal sash window. The interior of the hood maintains a negative pressure which impedes the ability of contaminates from flowing out. This is coupled with a continuous drawing in of air into the chamber at a regulated rate.

These hoods are designed to be mounted to a lab bench or table top and can be ductless or use a ventilation duct. Ductless hoods allow for more portability and generally use HEPA filters whereas ducted ventilation hoods pull fumes into the building’s exhaust system where it is treated before being released outside.

DescriptionNuAire’s all Polypropylene Model NU-156/E FumeGard Vertical Laminar Flow Wet Process Fume Hood is a bench module Fume Hood which utilizes the latest state-of-the-art technologies in laminar airflow design, materials and manufacturing processes. The modular constructed Fume Hood can be used anywhere ... Read MoreThe FumeGard NU-162 is built primarily of stress relieved polypropylene to which NuAire has added anti-oxidizing agents and UV stabilizers. This increases tensile strength and improves thermal characteristics. NU-162 has a single piece airfoil across the bottom of the work access opening. As the ... Read MoreConstructed of stress-relieved polypropylene, the FumeGard NU-164 has a by-pass (protected by a grill) which maintains a constant volume of airflow. As the sash is closed, air is by-passed at the top of the hood, causing the hood face velocity to increase much more slowly than a conventional fume ... Read More
