The portable Moisture Meter enables the precise determination of water activity (aw) in various products. It measures water activity in the range from 0 to 1.0000 aw and temperatures from -10 to 50°C / 14 ... 122°F. The aw value indicates the proportion of free, unbound water in organic products such as foodstuffs or pharmaceuticals and is referred to as water activity. This value is crucial for assessing the shelf life and quality of products, as it influences the growth of microorganisms, molds and yeasts. In contrast to the total moisture content of a product, the Aw value is largely responsible for microbial stability.
The Moisture Meter delivers highly accurate results within just 3 to 5 minutes and works with precise sensors that ensure an accuracy of ± 0.015 aw in the temperature range of 10 to 30°C / 50 ... 86°F. It has three different measurement modes: normal mode, fast mode and continuous display mode. Calibration can be performed with one or more points (two, three or four points). The 2.8" TFT colour display ensures clear and intuitive operation, while the portable design and supplied instrument case allow flexible use in the field.
The device also offers extensive data management functions and can store up to 5,030 data records. The measurement results can be easily transferred to the software and output via the micro USB port. Power is supplied either via a 5V USB cable or four AA batteries, making it ideal for different environments and longer test times. It is used for the simultaneous measurement of formaldehyde (HCHO), volatile organic compounds (TVOC), ambient temperature and relative humidity. The Gas Detector / Gas Detection Instrument has a 2.8-inch color display that shows all measured values in real time and also visually assesses the air quality in three stages - green for "good", yellow for "poor" and red for "very poor". The Gas Detector / Gas Detection Instrument also has an acoustic alarm function with adjustable threshold values and sound types, which is triggered when defined measured values are exceeded.
For data storage, the device offers space for up to 200 measuring points on 5 pages, which corresponds to a total capacity of 1000 measurements per measured variable. The values for formaldehyde, TVOC and temperature are stored. The storage intervals and the number of collection points can be set individually, whereby the stored data can only be retrieved at any time via a playback function in the device. Other functions include a real-time clock, battery status display, adjustable measuring rate, automatic switch-off time, adjustable screen brightness and the option of active fan control.
