Fractionation System / Density Gradient Fractionators

Fractionation can be caused by a variety of chemical, biological, or physical processes and is employed in various areas of science, engineering and technology. Fractionation systems are designed to separate an analyte from a sample into equal portions or fractions. It does so in accordance with either the analytes physical or chemical properties, such as by size, density, or bonding ability. In column chromatography, for example, fractionation occurs by difference of affinity whereas in cell fractionation, the cells components are fractioned out by difference in mass. Fractionation instruments provide hands-off, programable, and repeatable options for separating desired samples.

DescriptionThis Cross-Fractionation Chromatograph obtains the bivariate distribution in polyolefins. The two-dimensional distribution that relates molar mass and chemical composition is often required for comprehensive characterization of complex materials. The CFC first fractionates the polymer according to ... Read MoreThe CRYSTAF-TREF instrument is a very convenient option when needing to analyze the CCD in Polyolefins, since either CRYSTAF or TREF techniques can be performed just by changing the configuration of the equipment.

Features
  • Possibility of running CRYSTAF or TREF techniques in the same instrument.

CRYSTEX® 42 is a high-throughput and fully-automated approach for obtaining the soluble fraction in polypropylene and copolymers. It stands as a modern and easy-to-operate alternative to the traditional wet chemistry method based on xylene solubility, which is known for being time consuming and for ... Read MoreThe Two-Dimensional Solvent Gradient Interaction Chromatograph (SGIC 2D) instrument is the only high temperature SGIC equipment commercially available. The system performs an analytical fractionation of the polymer according to chemical composition by selective adsorption/desorption on a HPLC column... Read MoreTemperature Rising Elution Fractionation has been the most comprehensive technique for the characterization of the Chemical Composition Distribution (CCD) in polyolefins, and Polymer Char’s TREF is the first fully automated apparatus implementing this technique.
