Developing New and Reliable Ion Chromatography Methods

Lab Manager
Dyne Fire Protection Labs
Grant Lobdell joined the Dyne Fire Protection Labs team in January of 2014 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota. During his time at Dyne, Lobdell has helped develop and validate several new test methods to help expand Dyne’s services and ensure fire safety compliance. Lobdell currently serves as the alternate to the chair of the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 11 Standard for Low-, Medium, and High-Expansion Foam, is a member of the Automatic Sprinkler Fire Protection Research Council and actively participates on the Standard Technical Panel for UL 2901 Antifreeze Solutions for Use in Fire Sprinklers Systems. Lobdell's experience in the laboratory and his time spent with various NFPA technical committees make him a valuable resource for the fire safety community.

Paul has a Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry from Cochin University of Science & Technology, India and a master’s degree in business administration (M.B.A.) from the University of South Florida.

Ion Chromatography (IC) is probably not the first technique that comes to mind when evaluating the chemical composition of dry chemicals, but IC might offer you insight not possible with other analytical techniques. Expand to see more

In this webinar, Grant Lobdell from Dyne Fire Protection Labs will share how his lab determined ion chromatography was the right approach for analyzing dry chemical agents in fire extinguishers and how system reliability factored into their decision to expand the technique throughout their lab. Grant will provide examples of the analysis methods in his lab which can be used to help develop and validate methods quickly and easily.

If you’re new to IC, learn how to choose the right suppression technology and automated sample preparation techniques to ensure accurate and reliable results. If you’re already using ion chromatography, register to learn additional ways to improve the reliability of your system.
