The BELSORP MAX G is a powerful, compact, and economical model in Microtrac's BELSORP MAX series of BET specific surface area and pore size analyzers. It allows the measurement of gas adsorption isotherms starting from extremely low pressures for the evaluation of micro-, meso- and macroporous materials, as well as non-porous materials.
The analyzer is equipped with one measurement port, one dedicated port for saturated vapor pressure measurement, and one port for free space (dead volume) analysis. Each port is equipped with a dedicated pressure sensor for high-precision analyses.
The BELSORP MAX G surface area & pore size distribution analyzer is capable of analyzing a wide range of materials, including pellets, molded bodies, substrates, and finely dispersed samples thanks to specially designed sample tubes.
The unit also supports a wide range of adsorbates and measurement conditions. The instrument is available in two different versions, making it suitable for a wide range of applications: BELSORP MAX G LP (Low Pressure) and BELSORP MAX G MP (Medium Pressure). Microtrac's BELSORP MAX X is the latest model in the BELSORP MAX series, featuring a more compact design and lower weight. This high-precision gas / vapor adsorption analyzer can measure up to four samples over a wide range of pressures and temperatures. BELSORP MAX X covers a broad array of analysis capabilities from specific surface area, pore size distribution, gas, and vapor adsorption to chemisorption.
Combining high-precision pressure transducers (133.3 kPa, 1.333 kPa, and 0.0133 kPa) with hard-sealing pneumatic valves and metal gaskets, the analyzer has superior technology to minimize gas leakage and enable ultimate vacuum levels. Temperature in the BELSORP MAX X is carefully controlled using state-of-the-art technology, from the heated manifold block (50 °C, optional 80 °C) and air bath to the sample, while electropolished gas / vapor lines prevent surface wetting and corrosion.
Additionally, the new BELCONTROL operation software facilitates understanding of the structure and durability of materials through cyclical stability analysis, improves measurement and maintenance efficiency, and sends measurement results via e-mail – all resulting in maxXimized sample throughput. Microtrac’s BELSORP MR1 focusses on easy handling and the fast characterization of porous materials. This instrument is precisely designed to measure specific surface areas using dynamic BET (Brunauer-Emmett-Teller) single-point method. Measurement of the specific surface area utilizing BET theory is one of the most common analytical methods in material evaluation based on adsorption phenomena. Generally, the specific surface area of a sample is calculated based on the amount of nitrogen adsorbed at liquid nitrogen temperature. The amount of adsorption can be measured by different methods, e.g., volumetric (BELSORP MINI X or MAX II series), gravimetric or dynamic. The BELSORP MR1 make use of the dynamic method.
The BELSORP MR1 is a highly efficient, stand-alone device that allows simultaneous pre-treatment and sample measurement. Due to our highly sensitive thermal conductivity detectors (TCD), thermometers & pressure gauges, an accurate measurement result is achieved in approx. 15 minutes. The automatic Dewar movement, the calibration function and the operation via the touch panel make the BELSORP MR1 extremely user-friendly and suitable for inexperienced users.
The analysis results are calculated automatically as soon as the measurement is completed. After the measurement, the specific surface area is displayed without the need for tedious manual calculation.
