Dilatometer / Dilatometry (DIL)

Dilatometry (DIL) measures volume changes caused by physical and chemical processes. They are used in manufacturing, engineering, materials science, and chemistry labs. When working with a dilatometer, the first step is to load the sample into the machine. The sample is subjected to physical or chemical processes, most often in the form of heating from a furnace, and a sensor picks up on the volume changes.

Dilatometers can be used to calculate a material's coefficient of thermal expansion, softening point, glass transition temperature, Curie point, crystalline transformation, phase transition, and amount of shrinkage. When purchasing dilatometry equipment, it is important to consider the type of material that will be tested, the method of capture for measurements, and the software used.

DescriptionThe 820 Series operate in a vertical orientation, making it uniquely set up for the analysis of sintering, studies in Rate Controlled Sintering (RCS) mode and the determination of dilatometric parameters of samples otherwise difficult to be analyzed on classic dilatometers with horizontal design.

For highest measurement accuracy, the DIL 802/802L provides a truly differential measurement in a horizontal dilatometer.

For highest measurement accuracy, DIL 802 and DIL 802L provides a truly differential measurement. Measuring only the difference between the sample and the reference specimen, the

The DIL805 Series comprises of four models: DIL 805L, DIL 805A are quenching dilatometers, DIL 805A/D is a quenching with the capability to deform the specimen by compression, and DIL 805A/D/T that can also stretch it in tension mode.

All four instruments are fully automated, self-contained units

This optical dilatometric measurement method used in DIL 806 is an absolute process, entirely independent of any possible expansion or contraction of the instrument. Consequently, measured results do not need to be corrected or calibrated for different temperature programs. Coupled with the fast Packed with automated features, the DIL 831 features  the patented 1 nm resolution optical encoder, a family of new dynamic furnaces, and the new linear sample load motor. The result is the best performing horizontal single sample push-rod dilatometer available on the market.
