Our FrameStar Roche Style plates are designed to achieve optimized assay conditions on the Roche LightCycler® 96 and 480 (with 96 well block). This particular style of plate is in a low profile 96-well format; perfect for reaction volumes of 10-100μl. The wells are shorter than "standard" profile wells, which decrease the "dead space" between the heated lid of the thermal cycler and the sample in the well. This eliminates condensation forming on the side wall of the tubes, preventing reduction in PCR volume and increasing the efficiency of the reaction. This is especially recommended for reaction volumes below 20μl. The extra white wells allow for increased sensitivity in fluorescent assays. The semi-skirted frame allows for labeling or barcoding.
