Micromanipulator

The analysis of ion channels in membranes, and the ability to inject genes into cells, all require a steady grip that no human hand can supply. Micromanipulators allow the scientist or clinician to accomplish microinjection, patch clamp experiments, extracellular and intra-cellular recordings or precision robotics by carefully controlling microelectrode and syringe movement and capillary flow. Micro-step motors ensure precise movements in three – or even four – dimensions, with resolutions as high as 0.0625 um/step. Stop locks and extra springs ensure minimal drift along the four axes. Some micromanipulator platforms provide central control over four simultaneous manipulators. Though mostly geared toward biochemical applications, a micromanipulator also has uses in micro-electronics and material science. These models tend to have higher thermal and mechanical stability.

DescriptionThe MPC-325 System consists of the MPC-200 controller and one to four MP-225 micromanipulators

Neurobiological experiments are becoming more complex. Many require multiple manipulators with control units that quickly become space and/or cost prohibitive. The MPC-200 is the solution you have been

The MP-225 is one of the newer members in the Sutter Instrument micromanipulator line. Production and design changes have allowed us to produce a motorized manipulator that is a more affordable alternative to the industry standard MP-285. While the MP-225 feature set is less comprehensive than the ... Read More

Our new MP-265/M "narrow format" mechanical is designed especially for patch-slice manipulator systems that require more than 2 or 3 pipettes. Coupled with our multi-manipulator controller, MPC-200, users have the ability to easily build up multi-manipulator MPC-365 systems for positioning multiple

The new TRIO™-245 from Sutter Instrument is a highly stable 3-axis manipulator with 25mm of travel on each axis. The TRIO's synthetic 4th axis can be set in software as any angle between 0 and 90 degrees for diagonal movement. Based on a lead-screw design with a smaller overall size and footprint ... Read More
