A near infrared spectrometer (also known as NIR spectrometer) is an analytical instrument used to examine pharmaceutical, chemical or medical materials in bulk, with very little sample preparation. Near infrared spectrometers offer spectral wavelength ranges around 12,500 to 4000 cm-1 or more. NIR spectrometers use high precision diode array detectors and silicon or lead-sulfide CCDs, which are generally more sensitive. Because of the diverse range of applications for NIR spectroscopy, these NIR spectrometers can be reconfigured to accommodate both liquid and solid samples, including compatibility with many flow-cell types for assay analysis. Ease of use, multiple-sample capacity, and portability make these high-throughput, near infrared spectrometers perfect for many laboratory environments.

The ASD LabSpec 4 Hi-Res analytical spectrometer is designed for analysis of materials that are characterized by sharp spectral features that may require more resolute spectral data for accurate detection and identification.
The 3 nm VNIR, 6 nm SWIR spectral resolution of the ASD LabSpec 4 Hi-Res analytical instrument provides superior performance across the 350-2500 nm spectral range. The enhanced spectral resolution in the SWIR range (1001- 2500 nm) is particularly useful for detecting and identifying compounds with narrow spectral features in these longer wavelengths such as soil, mineralogy, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, plastics and petrochemicals.
Spectral data with 6 nm SWIR resolution provides a strong foundation for building accurate chemometric calibration models for quantitative and qualitative materials analysis. The spectrometer configuration delivers superior signal throughput and is compatible with all ASD bifurcated probes and lighted accessories.
Optional integrated fiber optic light source
The ASD LabSpec 4 Hi-Res i model includes an internal broad-spectrum halogen light source that eliminates the need for an external fibre optic light source, which is required for bifurcated probes and some accessories.
Features:- Evaluate hundreds of samples per day with high analytic throughput rates.
-
Identify spectral characteristics of both liquids and solids in real-time.
-
Non-destructive measurement means no sample preparation and allows for the reuse of the sample in other research.
-
Measure multiple properties simultaneously through NIR energy that penetrates several millimeters into organic substances.
-
Compatible with all ASD sampling accessories.
-
Rapid analysis moves with the speed of production to evaluate incoming, in-process, or finished materials almost instantaneously.
