WITec’s ParticleScout is an advanced particle analysis tool for the alpha300 confocal Raman microscope series that finds, classifies and identifies microparticles over even large sample areas. Automated routines start by surveying samples with bright and dark field illumination to locate the particles they contain. The particles of interest are sorted into a ranked list by user-defined physical attributes and their individual Raman spectra are acquired in rapid succession. This process automatically omits empty space and irrelevant particles, greatly reducing measurement time. The chemical identities of the particles can then be determined before a report is generated that provides a detailed quantitative overview of the sample. These reports make ParticleScout the perfect tool for finding correlations between the physical and chemical attributes of particles.
