Vortex Mixer (Lab Vortex)

A vortex mixer is an essential piece of laboratory equipment used to efficiently mix or homogenize samples often in tubes or microplates by creating a vortex within the sample tube. Consisting of an electric motor and a mixing platform, a vortexer can accommodate an array of sample types and containers. When comparing lab vortex mixers, be sure to compare key specifications such as speed range, platform type and size, mixing modes, and capacity. Many vortex mixers also have adjustable orbital diameters to adjust the amount of mixing and agitation the samples receive. For laboratories using chemical solvents, many models of lab vortexer include chemical-resistant racks and holders to increase the lifespan of the sample holders.
