Solvent recovery systems are designed to condense and collect solvent vapors from
extraction systems and
concentration/evaporation systems. Solvent recovery begins when solvent vapors are pulled through a cold condenser coil by a vacuum pump to chill the solvent vapors. In this process it is converted back to a liquid form. In its liquid form the solvent vapor flows by vacuum and/or gravity to a collection container. After solvent recovery is complete the solvent can properly be disposed of. In addition to proper collection and disposal/reuse of solvents, it is also important to prevent solvent vapors that are harmful from being released into the atmosphere.
