TGA DSC Simultaneous Thermal Analyzer (STA)

Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) are the most common combination of analysis techniques found in simultaneous thermal analyzers (STAs). A combinatorial approach allows one instrument to collect multiple types of information simultaneously—in this case measuring a material’s response to stress by DSC along with mass changes in response to temperature and time with TGA. The two are able to work compatibly as test conditions are the same for both techniques. Simultaneous analyzers are useful for analysis of polymers, food, nanomaterials, metals, and oil, among other materials. When purchasing a TGA DSC Simultaneous Thermal Analyzer, it is important to consider the temperature range that can be achieved and how the temperature is controlled, the measuring range and sensitivity for mass analysis, the method for creating pressure, the maximum load, and more.
