Total Inorganic Carbon Analyzer (TIC Analyzers)

Total inorganic carbon (TIC) analyzers are used to detect inorganic carbon, found in the form of bicarbonate, carbonate, carbonic acid, and dissolved carbon dioxide, in a sample. TIC analyzers are used to detect inorganic compounds in food and beverage science, pharmaceuticals science, and geological sciences. In environmental science a TIC analyzer can be used to determine things such as the amount of dissolved carbon dioxide in the ocean. Total inorganic compound analyzers acidify a given sample which causes any form of inorganic carbon present to evolve into carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is then easily detected and quantified by the TIC analyzer, giving a very good measure of how much TIC is in the sample.

Considerations for purchasing a total inorganic carbon analyzer

Specifications, including detectable concentration levels, sample sizes needed, and solid and/or liquid samples analyzed, can differ from one total inorganic carbon analyzer to another.
