• High Sensitivity
  
  The SolidSpec-3700i and 3700i DUV are equipped with three detectors: a photomultiplier tube (PMT) detector for the ultraviolet and visible region; InGaAs and PbS detectors for the near-infrared region. The use of the InGaAs and PbS detectors makes the sensitivity in the near-infrared region significantly high.
  
  
• Deep UV Measurement
  
  The SolidSpec-3700i DUV has the capability to measure the deep ultraviolet region down to 165nm(note) (or to 175nm with an integrating sphere) by purging both the optical and the sample compartment with nitrogen gas.
  
  
• Large Sample Compartment
  
  The large sample compartment (900W x 700D x 350H mm) allows large samples to be measured without destroying the sample. The vertical optical path makes it possible to measure large samples while keeping them horizontal. The whole sample area of 12 inches or 310 x 310 mm samples is measurable by mounting the automatic X-Y stage (option).

The Shimadzu BioSpec-nano is a low-maintenance micro-volume spectrophotometer designed for the modern life science laboratory. It offers superior detection limits, up to 10 times better compared to the competition, making it the perfect instrument for quantitation of DNA, RNA, protein analysis, and photometric measurements. Quantitation can be rapidly and simply carried out with very small samples ranging from 1µL. And, with dedicated functions, such as automated sample mounting and wiping, the BioSpec-nano offers a rapid 3-second analysis time and a 10-second cycle time between samples.

Ultra-small Sample Volumes
Perform analysis with 1µL to 2µL samples. For ultra-small sample volumes no standard rectangular cell is needed although for applications that are not volume-limited, an optional rectangular cell adapter is available.

Automated Analysis
With “drop-and-click” functionality, analysis has never been easier. Simply drop the sample onto the target and click the button.

Easy Operation/Maintenance
Sample mounting, measurement and cleaning are conducted by the instrument, eliminating the need for operators to perform the tedious, repetitive, and inconsistent placement of the fiber optic element and manual cleaning required in other instruments.

• Photometric mode allows users to measure the absorbance or transmittance at single or multiple wavelengths. It is also capable of quantitation using the k-factor method.
• Spectrum mode records a sample spectrum using wavelength scanning. Users can repeat scans to follow sample changes over time.
• Quantitation mode generates a calibration curve from the measurement of standards and then calculates the concentrations of unknowns. Multi-component quantitation mode quantitates up to eight components mixed in a single sample.
• Kinetics mode measures absorbance changes as a function of time and obtains the enzymatic activity values.
• Time scan mode measures the change in absorbance, transmittance or energy as a function of time.
