Measurement of Quality and Quantity of DNA and RNA

This Nanodrop ND-1000 spectrophotometer was used for determination of quality and quantity of nucleic acids particularly DNA and RNA from bacterial samples. After loading 1 µl of DNA or RNA sample on to Nanodrop, I got quality (260:280 ratio) of DNA at 1.82 to 1.85 with 40-50 ng/µl of DNA. For RNA samples, I got quality (260:280 ratio) of 2.2 and 500-600 ng/ µl.
