Tetra-n-heptylammonium bromide is used as a mobile phase for the separation of a series of glucosinolates by reversed-phase ion-pair liquid chromatography. It acts as an ion pair reagent, which is used in the extraction of molybdenum complexes into toluene film. Further, it is used in organic synthesis.
