The cell lysate (after centrifuge) I worked on needed to be filtered by 0.22 µm filter. But when cell lysate volume is more than 3 ml, it will need several 0.5 ml 0.22 µm filter and spin a long time, like 20 min. It cost a lot of money and time. When I use this Sterile, 50 mL process volume, 0.22 µm pore size Steriflip filter to filter 10ml cell lysate, I simply screw this filter to a 50mL Conical Tube which contains 10 ml cell lysates, flip the Conical Tube, and connect the whole unit to lab vacuum line. 10ml cell lysate was then filtered and collected into the sterilized 50 ml tube with the filter. I strongly recommend using this filter to filter cell lysates or sterilize media volume from 3 to 40ml.
