This freezer keeps samples thermostable even when the door has been open for a bit. An alarm goes off right away if there is a problem and it can be linked to Building Operations. We have only had to defrost once in the past five years. However, there have been some times in the past where chilling on the top hasn't been equal to that on the bottom.
