The Mr. Frosty cryopreservation container is used to cryopreserve cells in liquid nitrogen for long term storage. Placing the cryotube containing cells in the freezing container allows the cells to freeze at -1 degree per minute which is the optimal rate for preserving cells. This container with a cryotube containing cells can be placed for a maximum of one or two days in an -80 deg freezer before transferring to liquid nitrogen.
