This Thermo Scientific Nuclear and Cytoplasmic Extraction Kit is used for extracting nuclear proteins and cytoplasmic proteins separately without getting mixed. Density gradient centrifugation is one of the commonly used methods to separate nuclear content from cytoplasm, however it involves lengthy steps which cause contamination of nuclear extract with cytoplasm. This cross contamination can be minimized by using NE-PER kit's stepwise lysis and also extraction can be achieved in less than two hours.
