The Qiagen plasmid kit is a very handy plasmid purification kit for molecular biologists. Usage of toxic chemicals such as phenol and chloroform can be avoided using this kit. It uses anion exchange resin for purifying transfection grade plasmid DNA obtained from bacterial lysates. Up to 500 µg of high copy number plasmid DNA can be purified using this Qiagen maxi kit. Just 4-5 steps to obtain purified plasmid DNA.
