The real-time PCR machine from Bio-Rad is efficient for the amplification of a gene in 96-well plates. You can store your protocol in the machine and you can also standardize the PCR conditions. The temperature is effectively controlled by the lid of the machine and it is very straight forward to work with. I am happy to have it in our lab and this machine provides reproducible results.
